Despite the challenges of this past year, Rice’s Program in Writing and Communication is excited to offer
our second iteration of the Visual Communication Symposium in March 2021. Join us for an exciting
line-up of speakers from both academia and journalism as we explore how the human mind visualizes
information and how we can apply that knowledge to allow us to share our work more effectively.
We are also pleased to to offer two hands-on workshops for a limited number of participants (30 in
each). The workshops will provide users an opportunity to learn about using Shiny to visualize their data
and to advance their existing knowledge of ggplot.
This year we are utilizing a virtual conference platform through Whova. Participants will be able to
watch the sessions, interact with the speakers, and network with each other all in one space.
